USCCB to Lead National Consecration to the Sacred Heart

A National Moment of Prayer

The United States to Be Consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

June 11, 2026 | Solemnity of the Sacred Heart

As the United States approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Church is preparing for a moment of profound spiritual significance. On June 11, 2026, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will consecrate the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This historic act invites the faithful to reflect not only on the country’s founding ideals, but on a deeper call to unity, healing and renewal rooted in Christ’s love. At a time when divisions and challenges are keenly felt, the consecration serves as a reminder that true freedom is found in the mercy and love of God.

Join in the Novena

In preparation for the consecration, a national novena will begin on June 3, 2026, uniting Catholics across the country in prayer.

The intentions of the novena are both timely and timeless: that the nation may be blessed, that broken relationships may be reconciled and that the Church may serve as a visible sign of Christ’s infinite love in the world.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus has long been a symbol of compassion, sacrifice and divine mercy. To consecrate the nation to His Heart is to entrust its future to that same mercy, asking for guidance, healing and the grace to live as a people marked by charity and truth.

How to Participate

Parishes and individuals are encouraged to take part in this national moment of prayer through parish engagement, personal devotion and acts of faith.

As the nation commemorates its history, this consecration offers a path forward, one shaped not only by remembrance, but by renewal. In entrusting the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Church invites all to rediscover the transforming power of divine love at the heart of both faith and freedom.
