Cyclists Complete 5-Day, 337-mile Virtual Trip Across Haiti

Ride to Rebuild

Diocese of Norwich Outreach to Haiti

A team of riders participated in the 7th Annual Bike Ride for Haiti. This 5-day, 337-mile virtual trip across Haiti was from October 11 to 15. The distance represents the mileage from Jérémie on the west coast of Haiti, through the capital city of Port-au-Prince in the middle of the country, to Cap-Haitien on the north coast.

The Ride to Rebuild began as a way to raise awareness of Haiti and the terrible devastation wrought in the 2010 earthquake and continues so we can support our brothers and sisters in Haiti.

The ride took place through the eastern and central parts of Connecticut.

Thanks to funds raised through Ride to Rebuild and our many friends and supporters, our staff in Haiti has moved into our new building in Christ Roi (Christ the King) neighborhood of Port-au-Prince. This building replaces two that we lost in the 2010 earthquake.

Outreach has been in Haiti for more than 35 years, serving the poor in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas, and provides a healthcare clinic, nutrition and food programs, education programs, a parish twinning program, and cultural immersion trips.

You can donate by using the link below, or by sending a check to Outreach to Haiti, 815 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT 06360. Any questions, call (860) 800-3601.
