Role and Responsibilities

  • Model the Catholic faith through personal witness, prayer, and participation in the sacramental life of the Church.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Teach Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) to elementary school students, usually from grades PK4–5.
  • Incorporate cultural lessons and activities to expose students to Spanish-speaking countries and traditions.
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including visual aids, music, games, and storytelling.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
  • Manage student behavior effectively, using school-wide discipline policies and individual behavior plans as needed.
  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student understanding and language acquisition.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom activities.
  • Supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, arrival/dismissal, and bus duty.
  • Participate in school events, assemblies, extracurricular activities and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the school administration to support school operations and student safety.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous teaching experience, preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Applicants should be familiar with the Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Additional Notes

  • Hours: 10 hours per week, flexible timing
  • Salary: $12,000–$15,000
