Experience Christmas Eve Midnight Mass

Christmas Eve Midnight Mass

You are invited to experience the beauty, the wonder, and the inspiration of Christmas at the Mass at Midnight in the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich. If you’ve never been before, know that all your senses will be engaged.

Upon walking up to the center doors of the cathedral, your eyes will be greeted by two large wreaths. This visual beauty spills out from the inside, where you will see the magnificently restored cathedral, resplendent with decorations that tell the glory of this day. It is a gift, given to us by the generations of parishioners who have walked through these doors.

Plan on arriving early, as the cathedral choir begins singing familiar carols approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of Mass.

Should circumstances prevent you from attending this Mass, the Communications Office is once again partnering with radio stations WICH-1310 AM & 94.5 FM to broadcast the Mass in its entirety.  We are truly blessed for this ongoing gift.

The beauty of the cathedral can be experienced year-round and will remain fully decorated until the Solemnity of the Epiphany on January 6, 2022. Masses are daily 7 AM and noon.

Gratitude Should Accompany Your Turkey and Pie, Pope Says
VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Thanksgiving is a "beautiful feast" that reminds everyone to be grateful for the gifts they have been given, Pope Leo XIV said. Pope Leo, the first U.S.-born pope, was scheduled to spend his Thanksgiving Nov. 27 in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey, the first stops on his first foreign trip as pope. A reporter asked the pope what he was than...

Celebrating the Retirement of Mary Ellen Mahoney After more than 12 years of faithful service, the Diocese of Norwich is celebrating the retirement of Mary Ellen Mahoney, who joined us on March 13, 2013, and quickly became one of the most trusted, steady, and mission-driven members of our diocesan family. Mary Ellen began her work in the Office of Development and, through commitment and leadership, eventually became the Executive Director of the Office of Development, overseeing the full range of diocesan development functions that support our parishes, schools, and m...
