Deacon Anthony Dombkowski

 

Deacon Anthony Dombkowski, a Permanent Deacon of the Diocese of Norwich, died on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Obituary and arrangements are below. 

 

Griswold-  Anthony Dombkowski of 163 Geer Road, Griswold died on November 12, 2023 after a years-long struggle with Parkinson's disease.  

Anthony was born on February 24, 1938 and was a lifelong resident of Griswold Connecticut. He attended Griswold High School and later proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a pipefitter and welder his entire career, working on submarines and large construction projects along the east coast. Anthony participated in local politics for a time and was very active in local social organizations. He most recently served as Deacon at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.

Anthony is predeceased by his daughter Wendy Martin, parents Helen and Stanley and his brother William and his spouse Bernice. He is survived by his brother Edward and his spouse Beverly, his former wife, Juliette (Tetreault) Dombkowski, his children; Michael and his spouse Erin, Mark and his spouse Debbie, Lori Roode and her spouse John, and Matthew and his spouse Kerry; son-in-law Stephen Martin and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Anthony also leaves his loving and devoted friend Indigo Young.

 

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Anthony’s family in the Griswold Funeral Home, 30 North Main Street, Jewett City, on Sunday, November 19, 2023 between 4:00 and 7:00 pm concluding with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary Parish on Monday November 20, 2023 at 10:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will take place in St. Mary Cemetery, Lilly Pond Road, Griswold.
