How is God challenging us to take care of the planet?
What does catholic social teaching ask of us today?
What can we do to reduce our carbon footprint?
How do we recycle effectively?

Come explore the answers to these questions and so many more! This interactive environmental awareness workshop will also provide updates on current legislation here in CT and will present actions that make a difference.

The faithful of the Diocese of Norwich are invited to join Bishop Reidy on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for a day of prayer, pilgrimage and fellowship at St. Anne Shrine in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The pilgrimage will take place on the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows and will offer participants a special opportunity for devotion to St. Anne and the Blessed Virgin Mary. A Youth and Family Event with Bishop Reidy hosted by Deanery I: A Hike to the Wolf Den at Mashamoquet Brook State Park, 276 Mashamoquet Road, Pomfret, CT. Friday, September 11th 2026, from 4-8pm: Families are invited to pack a picnic dinner to enjoy in the stone pavilion and any lawn games they enjoy. On August 16th, the Sunday after the Solemnity of the Assumption, parishioners of Saint Joseph Church in Rockville were invited to bring flowers, herbs, and fruits to be blessed after the 10 am Mass as they gathered together for the annual St. Joseph’s Parish Picnic. The weather was beautiful, and it proved to be a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to relax, reconnect, and celebrate the spirit of the parish community!
