2025 Kicks off with ACA Leadership Meeting

The 2025 Annual Catholic Appeal, One Faith One Family, Leadership Meeting and Dinner took place on February 26, 2025, at St. Maurice Church in Bolton, CT. Bishop-Elect Reidy was in attendance and heartfully thanked all of the priests, chairpeople and administrative assistants for their hard work on last year’s appeal. Executive Director, Mary Ellen Mahoney also expressed her gratitude to the attendees, noting that they never would have ended the year so close to goal without everyone’s dedication and sacrifice. Father Richard Breton hosted the event at the St. Maurice parish hall.

Mrs. Mahoney recognized the fifteen parishes that had reached or exceeded their 2024 goal and presented them with gold-framed certificates to acknowledge their hard work. She also announced new this year, that any participating churches who exceed their goal in 2025 will receive 50% of the overage back for the parish to use.

Reverend Monsignor Richard F. Reidy Appointed as Sixth Bishop

Bishop-Elect Reidy comes to Norwich from the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts, where he has served faithfully in various pastoral and administrative roles, most recently as Vicar General. Bishop-Elect Reidy spoke to the attendees sharing how much he is looking forward to being the next Bishop of Norwich and serving as our shepherd.
