Knights of Columbus Invite Faithful to Holy Hour Honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Knights of Columbus Council #13 invite all faithful to a Sacred Heart Holy Hour— a special evening of prayer, reflection, and adoration centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The event will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Norwich on October 28th at 6pm.

This holy hour is part of the Knights of Columbus Pilgrim Icon Program, which carries more than 300 blessed icons of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to parishes around the world. Each image is a reproduction of the famous 1767 painting by Pompeo Batoni, venerated today in the Church of the Gesù in Rome. The icon bears the blessing of Pope Francis, who calls the devotion to the Sacred Heart a powerful reminder of God’s love for humanity.

The event flows from the jubilee marking the 350th anniversary of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque (Dec. 27, 2023 – June 27, 2025) and is inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Dilexit Nos (He Loved Us).

During the holy hour, attendees will experience readings from Sacred Scripture, reflections from Pope Francis, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, prayers to the Sacred Heart, and a time of silent adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.

Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly encourages all families to participate, sharing:

“As Knights bring these icons across the world to their parishes, we hope they will invite their families— and all families— to consecrate their homes and themselves to the Sacred Heart. In the heart of Christ, we see the heart of the Father.”

All are welcome to come and draw closer to the heart of Christ, which is a heart overflowing with mercy, love, and grace.
