The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference (CTCPAC)— the public policy office of Connecticut’s Catholic bishops— serves as the Church’s voice on issues of life, justice, and moral concern at the state Capitol. Each year, the Conference publishes its Annual Abortion Report, compiling official data from the Connecticut Department of Public Health to provide a clear picture of abortion trends across the state. The newly released 2025 report reveals a sobering reality: abortion numbers in Connecticut have continued to rise sharply, increasing by 46 percent since 2020, with medical (drug-induced) abortions now making up 70 percent of all procedures. The report also raises concerns about financial transparency at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, which it says holds a $50 million endowment fund while continuing to seek additional taxpayer dollars. Yet amid these troubling findings, the Conference highlights a source of hope— the ongoing work of pro-life pregnancy resource centers that continue to expand their outreach, offering compassionate care and life-affirming alternatives to women and families in need throughout Connecticut.
The Conference urges Catholics and concerned citizens alike to stay informed about these trends and their moral, social, and legislative implications. The report provides a detailed analysis of state health data, outlines the growing dominance of chemical abortions, and exposes the growing gap between Planned Parenthood’s public messaging and its financial reality. It also celebrates the tireless work of local pregnancy resource centers that continue to provide genuine support for women and families— without taxpayer funding.
