Annual Mass of Consecrated Life

On Sunday, February 2, the annual Mass of Thanksgiving for the Gift of Consecrated Life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the Cathedral of Saint Patrick in Norwich.

All are invited to join Bishop Michael R. Cote in thanking God for the gift of consecrated life and for the sisters, brothers, and religious priests who enrich the Church and the Diocese of Norwich by building up God’s Kingdom with the witness of their religious commitment.

The homilist for the Mass will be Father Jacinto Chapin, FI. Father Jacinto is a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate and is currently the delegate superior for the Marian Friary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Griswold, Connecticut.

The Most Reverend Richard F. Reidy was ordained as the Sixth Bishop of Norwich, Connecticut at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025 at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick. The gathering filled the cathedral for the Mass of Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Reidy, who comes to Norwich from the Diocese of Worcester, Massachusetts, where he was vicar general. Homeschooling families with children of all ages are invited to the Cathedral for Mass with other homeschoolers from around the Diocese on Wednesday, May 21st at 9:30 AM. After Mass all are invited to bring your own lunch to the Field Pavilion at Mohegan Park for a time to connect with one another. Ice cream will be provided by the Diocese.
