Masses Go Online for Holy Week

Masses Go Online for Holy Week

Services for Holy Week in the Diocese of Norwich this year were unlike any in memory, with hundreds attending Masses online or listening on radio and clergy celebrating Mass in empty churches.

Churches in the diocese have been closed to parishioners because of social distancing orders put in place after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. That did not stop the faithful from using technology to attend streaming Masses from their homes.

Masses for Palm Sunday, Chrism, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich were each streamed and recorded by the Office of Communications.
