Posted on April 30, 2020 in: News, Events

Renewal of the Consecration of the U.S.A. to the Blessed Virgin Mary May 1, 3 p.m.

Friday, May 1st at 3 p.m.

Bishop Michael R. Cote
will be renewing the consecration of the Diocese to the
Blessed Virgin Mary
under her titles

Mother of the Church
and
Queen of Peace

The ceremony will be Livestreamed on the
Diocese of Norwich Facebook page
and also on the
NorwichDiocese.org/Spiritual-Communion-Resources page

This same renewal will be taking place simultaneously at Dioceses throughout the country.  José Gomez, Archbishop of Los Angeles and President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops will preside over the national ceremony and prayer of consecration.

Bishop Cote is inviting all priests and parishioners to join us in prayer to our Lady for her maternal protection of our Diocese and her powerful intercession for an end to the current pandemic.

The ritual provided by the USCCB provides optional prayers to enable families to renew their consecrations to the Blessed Mother as well. This does not need to be done at the same time as the national and diocesan consecrations, but could be performed at any time during the month of May.

Jennifer Hubbard was the keynote speaker at this year’s Diocesan Women’s Conference. Jennifer lost her daughter in the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown. Jennifer’s talk was filled of inspirational antidotes from her life as a cradle Catholic- sharing very frankly the ups and downs of her faith journey. She stressed that as a believer she can always count on two facts - ...
