The Mass of Ordination was celebrated on June 27th, 2020 at the Catrhedral of St. Patrick in Norwich. See the story online along with video of the Mass and a photo gallery.

 

67th Annual Blessing of the Fleet

The traditional Fishermen's Mass and Blessing of the Fleet in Stonington continued this year, with some changes.

 

Faith in Action: 'Blessing Bags' Deliver Hope

Students at Saint Luke Church, Ellington, created 117 Blessing Bags of essentials to give to the homeless and less fortunate. 

 

There also are columns by Catholic Charities, Outreach to Haiti, the Office of Faith Events, the schools, and news from the ministries within the diocese.

In Memoriam: Reverend John Stanley Gwudz (1946–2026)
Reverend John Stanley Gwudz, a retired priest of the Diocese of Norwich, died on Monday, January 26, 2026, in San Diego, California, following a lengthy illness. Funeral arrangements are pending in California, where he resided for many years, with burial to follow at the Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego. Father John was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on July 1, 1946. He attended Falls School and St. Joseph School, and graduated from St. Bernard High School.
