Celebrate Seasons of Creation, September 1st - October 4th

What is the season of creation?

The Season of Creation is an annual celebration of prayer and action to protect creation. It runs from September 1 to October 4.

What is this year’s theme?

The 2020 Season of Creation theme is “Jubilee for the Earth: New Rhythms, New Hope.”

Why participate?

This year, amid crises that have shaken our world, we’re awakened to the urgent need to heal our relationships with creation and each other. During the season this year, we enter a time of restoration and hope, a jubilee for our Earth that requires radically new ways of living with creation.

How is this year’s celebration different?

This particular year, the need for just and sustainable systems has been revealed by the far-reaching effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common role as caretakers of God’s creation. We rejoice in this opportunity to care for our common home and the sisters and brothers who share it.

What can we expect this month?

The Office of Faith Events will be providing resources and spiritual activities throughout the month. Every Saturday we will send out a summary of the week’s themes as well as reflection questions for the week. On Wednesday, our Faith and Hope Video Series, will focus on a topic from the Seasons of Creation series.

We hope you will join us in prayer, reflection and action this month!
