CT Catholic Conference Executive Director Speaks Out to Stop Assisted Suicide

A proposal will be heard in a public hearing this Friday before the Connecticut Legislature’s Public Health Committee that would allow doctors and others to help our fellow brothers and sisters take their own lives without safeguards and often through painful means. In this video, Chris Healy, Executive Director of the Connecticut Catholic Conference, explains how you can use your voice to make it known to lawmakers in Connecticut that life is sacred, and suicide is not the answer.

Work Beginning on Towers at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick

The scaffolding that's recently gone up near the Cathedral of Saint Patrick's main entrance is the sign of a long awaited project that's taking shape. Work is being performed by the Joseph Gnazzo company of Connecticut to repair the two towers at the front of the cathedral's exterior, taking each tower down stone by stone and then re-building using the same stonework. The Diocese of Norwich mourns the passing of Sister Joan Marie Crapps, 77, who passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Living Center, following complications from cancer, a disease she faced with courage and faith for seven years. Born on December 21, 1948, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Eda Mae (Dreager) Crapps.
