Tickets Still Available for Gala Dinner Dance for the Missionaries of Holy Apostles

On Friday, June 17, Saint Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut will be the site of a Gala Dinner/Dance in support of the senior members of The Society of the Missionaries of Holy Apostles (MSA).

The MSA of the United States Province are a community of Priests and Brothers founded by Rev. Eusebe Menard in 1962. Their Charism, or mission, is to promote and form men to the priesthood, and lay leaders for service in the Universal Church. Their primary ministry in the United States is to provide priests and lay leaders that can serve the Church, and spiritual directors, teachers, and professional staff members to Holy Apostles Seminary and College in Cromwell, CT.

Holy Apostles College & Seminary is a dynamic Catholic liberal arts college and seminary devoted to the formation of future priests and leaders in the Catholic community. The goal of Holy Apostles is to cultivate lay, consecrated, and ordained missionary disciples for the purpose of evangelization. The College welcomes and serves seminarians, lay students, as well as religious sisters. Holy Apostles offers a microcosm of the Church where lay people study alongside seminarians and religious in an effort to support and learn from one another.

“We are an Apostolic Society of Pontifical Right recognized for its loyalty to the Magisterium of Holy Mother Church and encouraging late vocations to the priesthood.”

In keeping with MSA’s mission, the society continues to promote the formation of late vocations to the priesthood. And in a time when parishes are experiencing shortages of priests, the MSA assists the general laity by actively providing parish masses, missions, conferences, and parish retreats, and special Mass intentions. 

The senior priests and brothers assist as the spiritual directors for the seminarians. Some teach at the college and celebrate Mass there, and they also support the Archdiocese of Hartford and Diocese of Norwich in the parishes where pastors need assistance. These men have dedicated their lives serving God and those who are both spiritually and physically very poor throughout the United States, Peru, Brazil, and Venezuela.  Their ministry continues today.

The Dinner/Dance Gala Fundraiser, featuring live music, will raise funds to assist these dedicated senior priests and brothers in their wellness, healthcare, and housing needs.

Work Beginning on Towers at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick
The scaffolding that's recently gone up near the Cathedral of Saint Patrick's main entrance is the sign of a long awaited project that's taking shape.
