VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- An operation to remove a small nodule from Pope Leo XIV's lung was successful, and he was recovering in his room, according to the Vatican press hall.
"The procedure was successful" and went according to schedule and as planned, it said in a Telegram message Oct. 13, adding that the pope had gone back to his hospital room after the surgery.

Sister Mary Jane Vo, SCM, brought 20 students from the Pro-life club at The Academy of The Holy Family to pray outside Planned Parenthood in Norwich on Columbus Day. On Monday, October 5, pilgrims from across the Diocese of Norwich traveled to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, for a day of prayer, reflection and fellowship in celebration of the feast of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.

Bishop Reidy celebrated the North American Martyrs Feast Day Mass Monday at the Shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs in Auriesville, NY. He was accompanied by seven concelebrating priests from the Northeast.
