Roles and Responsibilities:
St. Patrick Cathedral School is searching for an enthusiastic Kindergarten Teacher dedicated to creating an atmosphere that encourages a love of learning, while following the Mission of Catholic Education and the curriculum of the Norwich Diocese. He or she would be responsible for developing and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering social and emotional growth, and preparing students for kindergarten.
An active Catholic, knowledgeable of his/her faith.
Plan and implement lesson plans that align with age-appropriate learning standards and the school’s curriculum while keeping them engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Responsible for supervising children and guiding their development so they have the foundation to succeed in elementary school.
Help children to integrate into elementary school by providing them with the fundamental knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Create a variety of engaging activities, including hands-on learning, storytelling, and creative arts.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe classroom environment.
Using play- based learning and hands- on teaching methods.
Integrating competencies, goals and objectives into lesson plans.
Supervise children during all activities.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about child’s progress and development.
Strong understanding of child development and early childhood principles.
Utilizes technology
Works well with faculty and staff.
Excellent classroom management skills
Time management skills and ability to multitask.
Patience and flexibility
Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certification Required.
Some Experience and A Master’s Degree preferred But Not Required.
