St. Patrick Cathedral School Team Rappels for a Cause: Special Olympics CT

In a heartwarming display of unity and support, the St. Patrick Cathedral School team recently descended from the heights of Mohegan Sun, not just for the thrill but for a noble cause. The team's mission was clear: raise funds for Special Olympics CT.

And raise they did! A remarkable $9754, falling just shy of the $1000 per person goal. To participate in the daring act of rappelling down the iconic venue, each team member needed to muster $1000, a target that they valiantly pursued. The sense of accomplishment and pride was palpable, as Special Olympics CT holds a special place in the hearts of each team member.

Over the Edge for Special Olympics became an opportunity to not only showcase their courage but also their unwavering commitment to the cause. Their enthusiasm was infectious, with every member of the St. Patrick Cathedral School team radiating a deep sense of purpose.

The event at Mohegan Sun this year was nothing short of incredible. Over $105,000 was raised for Special Olympics CT, with 23 teams and hundreds of individuals contributing to this extraordinary cause. St. Patrick Cathedral School's team, despite falling just short of the top spot, secured an admirable 2nd place, raising $9754. It was a remarkable feat for a school that takes immense pride in its commitment to the community.

Looking ahead, the St. Patrick Cathedral School team is already planning for the future. They aim to extend their outreach, fostering friendly competition with other schools within the diocese to raise even more funds for Special Olympics.

As the team eagerly anticipates next year's event, they leave us with a heartwarming reminder of the power of unity and the extraordinary impact that a dedicated group can have when they come together for a cause.

Trust in God’s enduring presence, trust in His Word, and trust that hope remains not only possible, but powerful. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
