On Monday, September 22nd a nine-day Novena began in honor of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the Little Flower of Jesus, whose feast day is celebrated on October 1st. Known for her “little way” of love and trust in God, she teaches us that even the smallest acts, when done with great love, have eternal value. Each day of the novena, we pray:
“St. Thérèse, the Little Flower, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly garden and send it to me as a message of love. Ask God to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands. St. Thérèse, help me to always believe, as you did, in God’s great love for me, so that I might imitate your ‘little way’ each day.”
The novena concludes on her feast day, October 1st, a day when Catholics worldwide honor her witness of simplicity, humility, and unwavering confidence in God’s mercy.
