The faithful are invited to take part in a public witness to the Real Presence on Sunday, June 7, following the 10:30 AM Mass.
The Cathedral of Saint Patrick will host a Eucharistic Procession on the Feast of Corpus Christi, Sunday, June 7, immediately following the 10:30 AM Mass.
Bishop Richard Reidy will be the main celebrant for both the Mass and the procession. All are invited to come and walk with Our Lord in prayer, devotion and blessing as a witness to His love and Presence among us.
The Feast of Corpus Christi celebrates the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Catholics believe in faith that the Eucharist is not merely a symbol, but truly Christ Himself — Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity — given to us in love to nourish and strengthen each of us individually and all of us together as His Church.
The Eucharistic Procession is a beautiful and ancient tradition of this Feast. During the procession, the Blessed Sacrament is carried publicly among the faithful. Through this sacred witness, we follow Christ, present in the Eucharist, out of the church building and into the streets, praying together in devotion and bringing His blessing to the local community.
Whether you have attended many processions in your lifetime or this will be your first, you are most welcome.
