An Advent Family Blessing

An Advent Family Blessing

In the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…

Loving Father,

We ask that you bless this family and all the families who are faithfully trying to build your Kingdom here on earth.

Help them know and experience your love through their interactions with one another.  In turn help them share that love with the people who come into their lives every day searching for hope and peace.

Help them to exemplify the virtues of the Holy Family and never lose sight of their significance in our Church.  Like the Holy Family they will encounter struggles, disappointments and times when they are unsure of what the future holds for their family.  Be with them as their light,  as they journey through those dark times.

Most importantly help our young people experience Your love, security, trust, hope and forgiveness in their homes, so they can become strong and confident in their faith.  Willing to witness to your amazing grace and share their faith openly.

For it is through their faith that our young people will change our world and make it a better place.  Bringing your light and love into the lives of strangers, friends and family.

We ask all this through Christ your Son…Amen

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…

Send in Your Nativity Scene Photos
FCC News Desk In 2019, Pope Francis issued an apostolic letter, Admirabile signum, on the meaning and importance of nativity scenes, calling for this “wonderful sign” to be more widely displayed in family homes and public places throughout the world. For the last two years, in response, we asked parishioners, ministries, offices, churches, and schools to send us a picture of the nativity scene on display at their location. The response to this request was tremendous. Once again, we are asking for pictures of your creche. The photos will ...

Advent Resources to Help You Prepare for Christmas
“Beloved now is the acceptable time spoken of by the Spirit, the day of salvation, peace, and reconciliation: the great season of Advent. This is the time eagerly awaited by the patriarchs and prophets, the time that holy Simeon rejoiced to see.” - St. Charles Borromeo During the four weeks of Advent, we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth through prayer and reflection. We contemplate the First Coming of Jesus as Savior and anticipate His promised Second Coming. Amid the flurry of Christmas preparations, we look for practical...

Lectio Divina for the First Week of Advent
Lectio Divina for the First Week of Advent We begin our prayer: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Stir up your power, we pray, O Lord, and come, that with you to protect us, we may find rescue from the pressing dangers of our sins, and with you to set us free, we may be found worthy of salvation. Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Collect, Friday of the First Week of Advent Reading (Lectio) Read the following Scripture two or three times. Luke 21:25-28...
