St. John School Congratulates 8th Grader on Xavier High School Scholarship

A 'Well done' to Saint John School 8th grade student Owen Jones, who received the Bishop Vincent Hines Honors Memorial Scholarship from Xavier High School recently. This scholarship is attained by scoring in the 99th percentile in the Xavier High School entrance exam and applies to all four years at Xavier.

Owen is photographed with St. John School Principal Mother Elaine.

Mother Elaine congratulated him on his achievement and success during her daily morning prayer (currently on Zoom).

Owen also received the honor of Ryken Scholar at Xavier High School, which is awarded to all students who score in the 95th percentile and above. According to Admissions Director Nicholas Grasso, there were 15 Ryken Scholars recognized this year out of over 200 students who took the entrance test. 

Owen joins the list of scholarship recipients who have graduated from St. John School, including 2020 graduates Ryan Coffey and Juan Pacheco-O’Donnell, and 2019 graduate Samuel Matt.
