Saturday, August 8

Family Hike with Bishop Reidy at Wachusett Mountain

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. • Hike departs at 10 a.m.

Individuals and families from across the Diocese of Norwich are invited to join Bishop Reidy for a moderate hike at Wachusett Mountain. The hike is expected to conclude by approximately 2:30 p.m.


Tuesday, August 11

Final Summer Discipleship Night for Teens and Young Adults

5–9 p.m. • Marian Friary of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 199 Colonel Brown Road, Griswold

Teens ages 13–17 and young adults ages 18–30 are invited to an evening of faith, fellowship and prayer featuring dinner, a presentation, Eucharistic Adoration and fellowship around a bonfire.

Friday and Sunday, August 14 and 16, 2026

Maria Assunta Society Celebration

Friday at 7 p.m.; Sunday at 10 a.m.
St. Michael Church, Pawcatuck

Celebrate the Feast of the Assumption with Rosary and Benediction Friday evening and a Solemn Mass Sunday, followed by the traditional procession of the Blessed Virgin Mary through Pawcatuck. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.

Sunday, August 16

Feast of the Assumption Celebration

Mass begins at 9:30 a.m. • St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, New London

Celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption with Mass followed by a Eucharistic procession to St. Joseph Church, a blessing of the sick and a return procession to St. Mary Star of the Sea. A luncheon will follow from noon to 3 p.m. at St. Paul Church in Waterford.

Blessing of the Farm with Bishop Reidy

2:30 p.m.
Wehpittituck Farm, 211 Cove Road, Stonington

In honor of Saint Francis of Assisi, Bishop Richard F. Reidy will offer a special blessing for the farm, its owners, workers, livestock, crops and the local agricultural community. All are welcome.

Discover the Gift of the Liturgy of the Hours

6:30–8:30 p.m. • Holy Family Motherhouse, 54 West Main Street, Baltic

Sister Rosemary Esseff, O.P., will lead a workshop for those who already pray the Liturgy of the Hours and those who would like to discover this prayer of the Church. A free-will offering will be accepted. Registration is required by August 24.
