Job Description

St. James School, located in Danielson, CT is actively seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Art Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  The ideal candidate will create an atmosphere that provides a safe learning environment where students can develop an appreciation for art while following the Mission of Catholic Education and the curriculum of the Norwich Diocese. This position is flexible with scheduling throughout the week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Appreciation for Christian values and willingness to teach with a faith-based approach.
• Adept at determining students’ strengths and weaknesses and differentiating lessons accordingly.
• Creative lesson plan development and delivery
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Ability to develop lessons across varied grade levels (PK-8).
• Utilizes technology as appropriate to the art classroom
• Creates a safe, productive classroom environment

Bachelors Degree & CT Certification Preferred

Preferred Skills

• Minimum of 2 years experience
• Basic computer skills needed to submit grades (training will be provided)
• Able and willing to communicate electronically using email
