Led by our fearless leader, Bishop Richard Reidy, we embarked on Wednesday, March 18th from a beautiful Pro-Life Mass celebrated by our Good Sheperd at the Cathedral to Hartford to attend the Rally and March For Life, peacefully praying and demonstrating for the respect of all life and the protection of the unborn. Bishop Reidy gave the closing remarks, prayer and blessing.
For many of us, with the Cathedral School children attending the morning kick-off Mass, their precious young voices praying the Our Father, touched our hearts and brought tears to many eyes, making for the beginning of a beautiful, faith-filled day!
Along with many religious, including Diocesan Priests and Deacons, Friars, Sisters, and the Academy of the Holy Family students, over 60 soldiers next headed to the ‘March for the Lord’ on motor coaches generously provided by the Knights of Columbus.
Many of our pilgrims shared reflections about their experience at the March:
“Our new shepherd of the diocese is fearless in Christ - we are so blessed.”
“How beautiful that we can be in a country that we can be church militant and oppose evil openly. I thank our Lord and Lady for my life.”
“Beautiful day, great to be with fellow believers. The speaker who was born from a pregnancy conceived by rape was wonderful.”
“We will win because Our Great and Almighty God is King!”
“I’m going to explore helping at pregnancy resource centers.”
“Beautiful to see so many families, and the number of youth in attendance. It was so heartening and gave me so much renewed hope!”
“Seeing thousands of people with smiles praying and marching together was absolutely beautiful and inspiring. God gave us all life!”
“A very inspirational day! To hear the many stories of how giving life has redeemed so many.”
Many thanks to all who made this blessed, life-giving day possible!
