UConn Catholic Center Leads Eucharistic Procession Through Campus
On a bright, sunlit afternoon on Thursday, April 9, students from the University of Connecticut Catholic Center, in conjunction with Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, led the second annual Eucharistic Procession through the heart of the University of Connecticut’s Storrs campus.
Beginning at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, the procession spanned approximately one mile, winding through the center of campus and drawing the attention of students, faculty, and community members. With prayerful reverence, participants offered a visible witness of faith and devotion to the Eucharist.
Leading the procession were Fr. Gregory Galvin, Fr. Jacob Ramos, and Fr. Jeffrey Ellis, who guided the faithful as the Blessed Sacrament was carried beneath a canopy through the university grounds.
This public expression of Catholic belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist offered a powerful opportunity to bring Christ into the center of campus life, transforming ordinary walkways into sacred ground and inviting all who encountered it into a moment of reflection, reverence, and grace.
