Pope Leo XIV Addresses Knights at 143rd Convention

Pope Leo XIV Sends Video Greeting to Knights of Columbus at 143rd Supreme Convention

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a historic and heartfelt gesture, Pope Leo XIV addressed more than 2.1 million members of the Knights of Columbus with a special video message during the organization’s 143rd Supreme Convention held in the nation’s capital.

As the first American pope, His Holiness called on the Knights to reflect on the “essential virtue” of hope during this Jubilee Year of Hope, urging them to be “tangible signs of hope” to the unborn, pregnant mothers, children, the less fortunate, and all those affected by war and hardship.

“As Catholics, we know that the source of our hope is Jesus Christ,” the pope said, commending the Knights’ legacy of prayer, fraternity, and charity since their founding by Blessed Michael McGivney more than 140 years ago.

Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly expressed gratitude for the pope’s message. “Together, we promise Pope Leo XIV our prayers and loyalty, and we will always be united with him,” Kelly said, highlighting this year’s theme: Heralds of Hope.
