An Afternoon with Father Chris Alar at Immaculate Conception Center in Putnam

PUTNAM — The Immaculate Conception Center will host a special afternoon of prayer, community, and inspiration on Sunday, May 17, 2026, welcoming Father Chris Alar, MIC, for its annual fundraiser.

Titled “An Afternoon with Father Chris Alar,” the event offers an opportunity for the faithful to come together in a spirit of devotion and fellowship, while supporting the ongoing mission of the Immaculate Conception Center.

The afternoon will begin at 3:00 p.m. with an outdoor Mass, open to all. Celebrated by Father Alar, a member of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, the Mass invites attendees to step away from the busyness of daily life and enter into a moment of prayer and reflection. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, as the liturgy will take place rain or shine. A freewill offering will be accepted to benefit the Center.

Following the Mass, the evening will continue with a donor dinner at 5:00 p.m. The reception begins at 5:00 p.m., with dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Father Alar will deliver a keynote address at 7:00 p.m., offering insights drawn from his ministry and his work promoting the message of Divine Mercy.

Tickets for the dinner are $150 per person or $1,200 per table of eight, and must be purchased in advance by May 10. Proceeds from the event will directly support the programs and outreach of the Immaculate Conception Center, which serves as a place of spiritual renewal and community gathering in northeastern Connecticut.

Father Chris Alar is widely known for his engaging preaching, media outreach, and leadership within the Marian Fathers. His message, rooted in trust in God’s mercy and the call to deeper conversion, continues to resonate with Catholics seeking hope and clarity in today’s world.

All are welcome to attend the outdoor Mass, making the day accessible to individuals and families alike, while the evening dinner offers a more intimate opportunity to hear Father Alar speak and to support the Center’s mission in a meaningful way.

For those looking to step away, even briefly, and be reminded of the beauty of faith lived in community, this afternoon promises to be both uplifting and renewing.

A Prayer for Father's Day
Dear God, Thank you for loving us with your perfect heart of a father. We ask you this Father's Day and always to guide and protect the hearts of all men in fatherly roles who are striving to love with your heart and do your work. Give them pure, chaste, courageous, and creative hearts like Saint Joseph. Give them hearts that never tire of serving those they are called to love. Give them hearts that seek out their loved ones and gently turn their gaze to see You, who is Love.  And we ask you, Father, to bless them abundantly today....
