Now Hiring: U.S. Education Coordinator

A meaningful part-time opportunity to support Catholic education and strengthen lives in Haiti.

Outreach to Haiti is seeking a part-time U.S. Education Coordinator to oversee the U.S.-based work of its Education Program from the Norwich office.

This position works closely with the Executive Director, Connecticut staff, and the Education Director in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to help support students, sponsors, and the mission of the program.

Responsibilities include sponsor correspondence, grant activity monitoring, student data tracking, fundraising support, and strengthening communication between the U.S. office and Haiti-based staff.

Position Highlights

Hours

Number of hours per week will vary depending on the season. During summer months, hours may reach 20+ per week. The remainder of the year will likely average 5–10 hours per week.

Salary

$20–$23 per hour
Commensurate with experience and education level.

Location

In person at the Norwich, Connecticut office of Outreach to Haiti.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate child-to-sponsor correspondence and ensure updates are collected, organized, and shared.
  • Monitor and evaluate education program activities supported by grants.
  • Maintain Excel-based systems for student data and sponsorship records.
  • Support fundraising efforts, including grant writing, sponsorship drives, and donor cultivation.
  • Track program expenditures and sponsor donations for financial accountability.
  • Serve as a liaison for sponsors with timely, personalized communication.
  • Coordinate with Haiti-based leadership to gather stories, data, and media.
  • Help bridge communication between the U.S. office and Haiti staff.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of administrative, educational, or nonprofit experience
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and spreadsheets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional interpersonal skills and a strong problem-solving approach
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of French and/or Haitian Creole is a strong asset, though not required
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures as part of a collaborative team
