Position Summary

Sacred Heart School, located in Taftville, Connecticut, near Norwich, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Grade 4 teacher to join its faculty beginning in August 2026.

The school is seeking a teacher who inspires curiosity, engages students and fosters a love of learning. The ideal candidate will create a safe and supportive learning environment in which students are encouraged to excel.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent classroom-management, communication and organizational skills.
• Utilize differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Foster a collaborative, positive and faith-filled classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with families and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
• Create a safe and productive classroom environment.
• Utilize technology when appropriate and demonstrate a willingness to expand technology skills.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Support the mission and values of Catholic education.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic with a strong knowledge of the Catholic faith.
• Bachelor’s degree and Connecticut teaching certification required.
• Minimum of two years of teaching experience.
