St. Anne Shrine Pilgrimage Planned for Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows

The faithful of the Diocese of Norwich are invited to join Bishop Reidy on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for a day of prayer, pilgrimage and fellowship at St. Anne Shrine in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

The pilgrimage will take place on the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows and will offer participants a special opportunity for devotion to St. Anne and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

For more than 100 years, pilgrims have traveled to St. Anne Shrine seeking healing, peace and the unfailing love of Christ through the intercession of St. Anne and her daughter, Mary.

The group will arrive at the shrine at 9 a.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass in the Old Shrine at 10 a.m. Pilgrims will then have time to visit the shrine grounds and gift store before departing at noon.

Following the shrine visit, the group will gather for a traditional New England buffet at Publick House Historic Inn. The menu will include Thanksgiving turkey with all the fixings, Buttercrum Scrod and Publick House’s famed deep-dish apple pie.

Transportation will be provided by deluxe Dattco motorcoach. The pickup schedule is:
