Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy with Bishop Reidy

The faithful of the Diocese of Norwich are invited to join Bishop Richard Reidy for a special pilgrimage to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on Monday, October 5, the Feast of St. Faustina Kowalska.

The day will offer pilgrims an opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and spend time in prayer, reflection and devotion to the Divine Mercy of Jesus. Located in the Berkshire Hills, the National Shrine is home to the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception and has long welcomed pilgrims seeking to deepen their understanding of Christ’s message of mercy.

The pilgrimage will include Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, Confession, the Rosary for Life, a Divine Mercy Holy Hour and Chaplet, and an opportunity to venerate the relics of St. Faustina. Pilgrims will also have free time to explore the shrine grounds and visit the gift shop.

Transportation will be provided aboard a deluxe DATTCO motorcoach, with pickup locations at St. Mark Church in Westbrook at 7:50 a.m., St. Mary Church in Portland at 8:30 a.m. and St. Pius X Church in Middletown at 8:45 a.m. The group is scheduled to arrive at the shrine at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Following time to explore the shrine and attend a Divine Mercy talk, lunch will be served at noon. Confessions and the Rosary will begin at 1 p.m., followed by Mass at 2 p.m. and the Divine Mercy Holy Hour at 3 p.m. The pilgrimage will depart the shrine at 4:15 p.m., with return stops beginning in Middletown at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The cost is $80 per person and includes motorcoach transportation and lunch. Participants may select turkey, ham, tuna or peanut butter and jelly for their lunch sandwich.

Checks should be made payable to the Diocese of Norwich and mailed with the completed registration form to the Pilgrimage Office, Diocese of Norwich, 201 Broadway, Norwich, CT 06360. For additional information, call 860-887-9294.

The pilgrimage is organized by Father Brian Maxwell.

As the Church celebrates St. Faustina, the “Apostle of Divine Mercy,” this pilgrimage offers the faithful a fitting opportunity to encounter anew the message at the heart of her life and mission: Jesus, I trust in You.
