St. Joseph School in Baltic is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Grade 8 Teacher to join its exceptional faculty beginning in August 2026.

The school is looking for a teacher who inspires curiosity, fosters a love of learning and engages students through hands-on, inquiry-based instruction. The successful candidate should help students develop strong mathematical reasoning, scientific inquiry and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school science and mathematics to students in grades 6–8.
  • Develop engaging lessons aligned with Diocese of Norwich curriculum standards.
  • Incorporate laboratory investigations, technology, engineering design challenges, hands-on activities and problem-solving exercises.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive and faith-filled classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Support the mission and values of Catholic education.

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic who is knowledgeable about his or her faith.
  • Experience teaching middle school mathematics and science is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty and staff.
  • Strong classroom management, communication and organizational skills.
