National Day of Prayer- May 2, 2024

As we approach the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, 2024, Catholics around the country are called to reflect on the power of prayer in our lives, both individually and collectively as a community of believers.

The National Day of Prayer provides a unique opportunity for Catholics to come together in unity, setting aside differences and focusing on our shared faith and values. It is a time to lift our hearts in unison, offering prayers for our nation, its leaders, and the world at large.

This year's theme, "Embracing Faith," resonates deeply with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Faith is not merely a set of beliefs but a lived experience, a journey of trust and surrender to God's will. It calls us to embrace the challenges of life with courage, knowing that God is always with us, guiding and sustaining us along the way.

On this National Day of Prayer,  let us join our hearts and voices with millions of fellow believers, seeking God's guidance, grace, and blessings for our nation and all humanity. May our prayers on this day and every day be a source of inspiration, renewal, and hope for ourselves, our communities, and the world.

They are decorated with red and white flowers and blessed in a formal ceremony at the Basilica of St. Agnes and by the pope at the Vatican.  Benedictine nuns at the Monas...
